Striking West Indian cricketers not backing down

8:05 am on 15 July 2009

Thirteen leading West Indian cricketers are continuing their strike in the face of an ultimatum from their Board to apologise by tomorrow or face the consequences.

Their Players Association is drawing up battle lines for the protesting group who claim among other issues they've played their last four series, including the Twenty20 World Cup, without contracts.

The beneficiary of the impasse has been the visiting Bangladesh side which completed a 95-run victory over a scratch West Indies 11 in the opening test of a 2-match series.

The second test starts in Grenada on Saturday.
