The New Zealand men's softballers have started their campaign for a fourth consecutive world championship with a 15-0 win over the United States in Saskatoon.
The Black Sox jumped to a 12-0 lead in the first inning and the game finished in the fourth.
Their next opponents, Great Britain, lost 4-3 to the Philippines, while Denmark, who the Black Sox play on Wednesday, beat Botswana 4-1.
Japan, who the Black Sox play on Friday, beat Mexico 10-4 and in the other section there were wins to the Czech Republic, Australia and Puerto Rico
The hosts Canada, the beaten finalists in 2004, beat Argentina 8-1.
