Australia hanging on at Lord's

6:36 am on 20 July 2009

The Australian vice captain Michael Clarke led a recovery on the fourth day of the second Ashes cricket test at Lord's but they're still a long way from saving the match.

Australia's top order batsmen were robbed of a series of umpiring blunders after England set them 522 to win the match at the start of the day.

From 120 for 4, Australia had reached 313 for 5 when bad light stopped play with four overs to be bowled, and Clarke is still there on 125 with wicketkeeper Brad Haddin also unbeaten on 80.

But England are still well placed to win their first Ashes test at Lord's for 75 years.
