The English rugby club Bath have signed Fijian first five eighth Nicky Little on a one-year contract.

32-year-old Little has previously played in the English Premiership with Sale and Saracens and is his country's highest points scorer from a record 63 caps.

He will compete for the first-team shirt with Ryan Davis while South African Butch James is expected to be sidelined with injury until 2010.

Little spent two seasons at the Sharks after joining them in 1999 before one-year spells with Pontypridd and Dax and three seasons with Saracens from 2003.

Most recently he has been plying his trade with Petrarca Padova in Italy.

Internationally, Little starred at the 2007 World Cup but missed Fiji''s quarter-final against South Africa with a knee injury he suffered in the famous pool win over Wales.
