New Zealand's top BMX riders won't have the chance to try out the world champs Adelaide circuit until just the day before competition starts.

Organisers have been working overtime to finish off the indoor track track for the competition which begins on Saturday.

BikeNZ's BMX coach Ken Cools says his team is relaxed about the situation.

The New Zealand team includes women's world number one Sarah Walker and fellow Beijing Olympian Marc Willers who's back competing having recovered from a serious shoulder injury.

New Zealand will have 220 riders competing in a variety of categories and age groups.
