Australia need to overcome Andrew Flintoff if they're to retain the Ashes, with vice captain Michael Clarke declaring Flintoff as good as any bowler he's faced.

England went one nil up in the five test series with Flintoff's five wicket second innings haul, helping break a 75 year Lord's hoodoo for the home side as they beat Australia by 115 runs in the second test.

Clarke says he doesn't expect the England all-rounder's performance to dip in the next three Tests, after which Flintoff has said he'll retire.

Captain Ricky Ponting's dismissed speculation that Flintoff might not be able to play in all of the last three Tests due to on going injuries as rubbish.
