Phoenix sign another striker

The search by the Wellington Phoenix for another striker is over, with the club signing Barbados international and former Millwall, Sheffield United and Crystal Palace player Paul Ifill.

The 29-year-old Ifill, who's had a series of fitness issues, has signed a two year deal after being released by Palace in May and will arrive next week.

He's set to partner former Tranmere Rovers Chris Greenacre, up front.

Ifill was a member of the 2004 Milwall team that finished runners-up in the F.A. Cup to Manchester United.

He signed for Sheffield United in 2005 but fell out of favour when the Blades reached the premiership with coach Neil Warnock placing him on the transfer list and subsequently picked up by Palace.

He played 31 League and Cup games for Palace last season, scoring seven goals.
