Sparks set to fly between Contador and Armstrong

Team manager Johan Bruyneel admits sparks could fly between Tour de France leader Alberto Contador and Astana team-mate Lance Armstrong after the Spaniard defied team orders on the latest stage.

Contador, the 2007 race winner, tightened his grip on the yellow jersey after racing to the finish from the final summit with Luxembourg brothers Frank and Andy Schleck.

Frank won the 17th stage and both he and Andy have moved up the race's general classification, with Andy now second overall two and a half minutes behind the Spaniard.

But after the race it emerged Contador had ignored team orders that he was to let the Schleck brothers go, to allow his teamates Andreas Kloden and Armstrong, who was second overall going into the stage, a chance to finish in the general classifications' top three.

Armstong a seven time winner admits he's had to so far bite his tongue on the matter but Bruynell expects there'll be plenty of debate in the team meeting.
