Good start for junior rowers at World Champs

Despite losing a racing boat to a freak storm, New Zealand has made a very good start to the Under 23 Rowing World Championships in the Czech Republic with heat wins for four out of six crews.

The men's coxed four and the women's straight four both won their heats to qualify directly to their respective finals while the women's quad also go straight into a final after finishing second in their heat.

Unfortunately the men's boat was wrecked in a storm after the days action and they will have to row the final in a replacement boat.

The men's straight four and the men's double scull also won their heats and they qualify for semi-finals along with the women's lightweight double sculls.
