Textile suits and trunks poised to return - FINA

7:34 am on 25 July 2009

The controversy over performance-enhancing bodysuits for swimmers looks like it'll be history next year.

Swimming's governing body FINA say swimsuits will almost certainly have to be made from textiles from January and men are poised to return to trunks.

The issue has overshadowed the swimming world championships, which start on Sunday night.

The details of the new rules will be thrashed out at another meeting on July 28 but full bodysuits will remain for these championships.
