The Black Sox face a must-win play-off game against Japan at the softball world championships in Saskatoon in Canada today, after yesterday's shock 7-0 loss to Australia.
That game ended in the sixth innings.
Australia were credited with eight hits - but most of their runs came from New Zealand errors.
It was the Black Sox' first loss at the championship.
New Zealand beat Japan 5-3 in pool play.
