Formula One's world champion Lewis Hamilton has won the Hungarian Grand Prix, marking McLaren's return to form after 10 races without success.

Kimi Raikkonen drove his Ferrari into second place, a distant 11 seconds behind Hamilton, and the Australian Mark Webber finished third for Red Bull to go second in the championship, 18.5 points behind Britain's Jenson Button who had a frustrating afternoon struggling with his car's tyres to finish seventh after starting eighth.

Hamilton's victory have McLaren their first victory since last October, and the first success for a car equipped with the new KERS energy recovery system.

Renault's double world champion Fernando Alonso had started on pole position but the Spaniard lasted only 17 laps before retiring after earlier having to limp back to the pits on three wheels.
