The defending champion New Zealand men's softball team's bid for a fourth consecutive

world title has ended in a 5-0 loss to Australia at Saskatoon in Canada.

New Zealand reached the final by beating the hosts 8-5 this morning but the Black Sox batters who'd dominated other teams couldn't handle Australia's David Folkard , who pitched a no-hitter.

The Black Sox lost 7-0 to Australia when the playoffs started on Saturday and had to beat Japan and Canada to reach the final again.
