2:57 pm on 28 July 2009

Queensland Rugby League's general manager Ross Livermore is to meet Origin coach Mal Meninga and team manager Steve Walters following allegations some players used a home-made party drug and broke curfew before the third State of Origin match against New South Wales

Meninga's understood to have spoken to his players about the allegations which e described at the weekend as "scurrilous rubbish".

Walters has denied any knowledge of players mixing the prescription sleeping drug Stilnox with an energy drink to produce an effect said to be similar to cocaine or ecstasy.

Meninga allowed his players to celebrate their series win and his 50th birthday early in the camp before the third match

He told players to stop drinking stop on the Friday night after a sponsor's dinner in Brisbane.

But it's been reported some players were out drinking on the Gold Coast on Monday night before the Wednesday game.
