Rule changes will boost Central Pulse

5:15 am on 30 July 2009

Two-time wooden spooners, the Central Pulse, will benefit from rule changes to the trans Tasman netball compeition allowing poor performing teams an extra non-eligible player and a further $25,000 grant from the tournament organisers.

The competition's general manager Anthony Everard says the concessions are aimed at improving the on court performances of teams at the lower end of the ladder.

Teams that finish last or second to last in consecutive seasons in the ten team competition will be eligible.

The Pulse are the only side that fill the criteria having finished last in the opening two seasons of the competition.
