Berrick Barnes is switching states in his next Australian Super rugby contract.

The former Queensland Reds back will play for the New South Wales Waratahs next year after re-signing through to the 2011 world cup.

The 23-year-old Wallaby star confirmed the move after being named in the Wallaby squad which leaves Australia on Friday for the Tri Nations clash with the Springboks.

Queensland say they're disappointed.

Barnes made his Super Rugby debut in 2006 for the Queensland Reds against NSW, and has earned 45 state caps over the last four years.
