Citroen stick with rallying

12:55 pm on 1 August 2009

Citroen have announced they'll be continuing with the world rally championship until 2011.

The news, which comes 24 hours after a similar announcement by their arch rivals Ford, will come as a relief to the team and organisers alike given the economic climate and following the planned departure of BMW from Formula One.

With Sebastien Loeb behind the wheel the French car manaufacturer have enjoyed their time in the sport, picking up four constructor titles and five drivers' championships.

Citroen and Ford are the only two constructors still in the WRC after the departures of Subaru and Suzuki at the end of last season.
