More world records at Swim world champs

The New Zealand record holder Corney Swanepoel has finished last in his 100 metres butterfly semi-final at the world swimming championships in Rome.

Swanepoel was a touch outside his New Zealand record to ease through as the 15th fastest qualifier but faded to round out the field in the semi.

Training mate Moss Burmester completed an unhappy championship, fractionally outside his best and failing to qualify for the semi-finals.

As six world records fell on the night, taking the total to a whopping 35 with two days still to go, the sport's governing body FINA says a ban on high-tech suits will take effect on the 1st of January.
