The world golf number one Tiger Woods has rocketed up the leaderboard into a share of fifth place at the PGA's Buick Open in Michigan after shooting a nine under par 63.

Australian John Senden leads by two shots, four ahead of Woods while New Zealander Danny Lee's missed the cut after carding a second 74 in two days - his two over par leaving him eight over the cut mark of four under.

Lee bogeyed three of his first four holes after starting on the back nine. Two birdies gave him some hope but despite another birdie and an eagle, four more bogeys did for his tournament.

Meanwhile fellow New Zealander Phil Tataurangi has dropped to a share of sixth, two shots off the leader at the latest US Nationwide Tour event in Ohio.

Grant Waite's tied for 13th, two shots back while Steve Alker and Bradley Iles are set to miss the cut.
