Warring America's Cup factions ordered back to court

A New York judge has ordered the feuding rivals for the next America's Cup yachting race back to court for a hearing on race guidelines.

The New York State Supreme Court has directed defending champion Alinghi and challenger BMW Oracle to present arguments about the timeline for BMW Oracle to produce official certification for the boat it plans to race.

Swiss based Alinghi has argued BMW Oracle should have already made the certificate available.

BMW-Oracle, which sails under the flag of the San Francisco based Golden Gate Yacht Club argues Alinghi's trying to secure an unfair advantage.

The two rivals for yachting's top prize have been locked in a legal dispute for more than two years over the terms of the 33rd edition of the race.

The next America's Cup competition had been scheduled for this year and but is now scheduled to begin in early February.
