Warriors sign Seymour

The Warriors have confirmed they're hiring one of rugby league's bad boys to try help solve their playmaker problem at halfback/stand off, with Brett Seymour to join the club next season.

Chief executive Wayne Scurrah says the Warriors have worked closely with the NRL in structuring a special deal which offers the 24-year-old Seymour a last chance to rebuild his career.

Seymour's drinking and other off-field misbehaviour saw Cronulla sack him early last month

Scurrah says Seymour has proven himself as a high-quality half with Brisbane and Cronulla and the Warriors were interested in him 18 months ago.

He says they accept the NRL has a hard-line policy on clubs being held accountable for signing players with previous behaviour issues of this type.

Scurrah says Seymour knows this is his last chance to make something of his career and his life and they will be doing all they can to make it work.

Seymour says he's grateful he's been another chance and doesn't want to let down the club or the NRL.
