Australia edged Malaysia 1-0 in the final of the four-team men's hockey tournament in Canberra.
The Kookaburras managed to convert just one of 13 penalty corners attempts against the world No.16 Malaysian side they beat 11-3 on Wednesday.
Kookaburras coach Ric Charlesworth rued his side's dreadful penalty corner conversion rate, vowing to address it before the 2010 World Cup qualifier against New Zealand in late August.
