Springboks spoilt for choice

10:33 am on 4 August 2009

The Springboks first five-eighth Ruan Pienaar has declared himself fit to tackle the Wallabies, giving coach Peter De Villiers a selection headache ahead of theTri Nations match at Newlands on Sunday morning.

De Villiers is scheduled to name his team tonight and it would be a shock to the Wallabies if he opts for Pienaar over Morne Steyn.

In a spectacular entrance to Test rugby, Steyn has missed just two shots at goal since debuting against the British and Lions and he scored all 31 points in the win over the All Blacks in Durban.

Pienaar was forced off with an ankle injury at halftime in the first of South Africa's back-to-back wins over New Zealand in Bloemfontein two weeks ago but he's likely to make his comeback via the bench.
