The English football club Liverpool have agreed to sell Spain midfielder Xabi Alonso to Real Madrid.
The 27-year-old, who joined Liverpool from Real Sociedad in August 2004, will move for an undisclosed fee, subject to a medical.
Alonso will become Real's latest big money summer signing and will follow Cristiano Ronaldo, Kaka and Karim Benzema to the Bernabeu.
