Lee says he's ready to go

Australian fast bowler Brett Lee has launched his campaign to be picked for the fourth Ashes Test by saying he is bowling "rapid" before the start of the Headingley clash tomorrow night.

Lee has been working his way back from a side strain for the past month and says selectors had no reason not to choose him on fitness grounds.

With Australia trailing 1-nil in the series with two matches to play, Australia's fourth highest Test wicket-taker says he's ready to go.

Lee says he's been bowling for two weeks and he's bowled for eight days straight... the pace has felt really, really good and he's 100 per cent ready to go.

Lee doesn't have the best Test average from his past two Ashes tours, averaging more than 45 runs per wicket.

However his teammate and good friend Shane Watson is less confident of Lee's chances of being called up for the critical match without a practice game under his belt since the injury.
