New Zealand wary of Sri Lanka's improved pace bowling

The New Zealand cricket captain Dan Vettori has pinpointed Sri Lanka's improving pace attack as a key threat to his inexperienced batting line-up in the build up to the first test of their two-match series starting on August 18 in Galle.

Sri Lanka's spinners have traditionally provided the biggest challenge for visiting teams and Vettori says the Black Sticks ability to counter the Sri Lankan spinners going to be a huge part of the game.

But he says Sri Lanka's pacemen bowled well against Pakistan too, with the new opening pair, Nuwan Kulasekara and Thilan Thushara, sharing 29 wickets between them in the 2-0 series win.
