Titans blitz Warriors in Auckland for first time

6:18 pm on 9 August 2009

The Warriors rugby league season continues to free fall with the Gold Coast easily winning their round 21 NRL match in Auckland 30-10.

The Titans led 14-0 at half-time before the Warriors hit back with two tries to winger Manu Vatuvei from crossfield kicks by Stacey Jones to close to within four points.

But comeback hopes were dashed quickly with the dual international Mat Rogers scoring two of the Titans' three second half tries as they cruised to their first win in in Auckland.

The victory puts the Titans return back on track for a top four finish after their surprise loss to North Queensland last weekend while the Warriors remain third from bottom.

There was some solace for their fans in the curtain raiser though -- the Junior Warriors beat the Titans 52-4.
