The All Blacks coach Graham Henry says he hasn't rushed Dan Carter back into the All Blacks simply because of the side's two straight losses to South Africa.
Carter is set to return for next week's Bledisloe Cup test in Sydney having played a club game and two provincial matches for Canterbury, after recovering from the achilles injury he suffered while playing in France in January.
Carter will join the All Blacks in their one day training session in Auckland on Wednesday, with the side then assembling in Sydney on Sunday.
Without Carter the All Blacks have struggled and Henry says even if the results in South Africa had been different they'd have still wanted him back now as it was the date they were planning on as far back as three months ago.
Henry says he spoke to Carter after he played for Canterbury against Auckland on Saturday and he's keen to get back to international rugby.
