The Melbourne Storm league star Greg Inglis has been stood down indefinitely by his club after being charged with assaulting his girlfriend.
In another blow for the NRL, 22-year-old Inglis, who was the poster boy of the league's million dollar marketing campaign in March, is reported to have left his girlfriend with a black eye.
The Melbourne Storm fired their assistant coach and former international Matthew Johns in May after an investigative report on state television named him as a participant in a group sex incident in 2002.
