Mystery virus sidelines Stoner

The battle for motor cycling's MotoGP championship has been reduced to a two-way race following the decision of Australia's 2007 champion Casey Stoner to sit out the next three rounds of the championship.

The 23-year-old Stoner has been suffering from a mystery virus for the last two rounds, leaving him extremely fatigued, and he's taken his doctors advice to rest until the Portugese round next month.

With eight races to go in the championship Italy's Valentino Rossi leads the championship by 35 points from his Spanish teammate at Yamaha Jorge Lorenzo.
