The All Black assistant coach Wayne Smith says the side isn't one that needs its star players to win.
Just like a few months ago when everyone was sweating on the return of captain Richie McCaw from injury, there is high expectation that the return of Dan Carter from a 6-month injury break will right the poor recent form of the national side.
Carter has been called back into the All Black squad for Saturday week's tri-nations clash against Australia in Sydney, but Smith says he's no certainty to start.
