The New Zealand A cricket side has opened its tour of India with a win over a Invitational Eleven in Chennai with just a ball to spare.

Chasing 293 to win, a century from Otago's Neil Broom set up the victory with Broom making 104, and Aaron Redmond 41 from 42 balls.

The last pair of Kyle Mills and Brendon Diamanti saw the side home, with Diamanti hitting a four off the second to last ball of the day to secure the win.
