The All Whites striker Shane Smeltz is at the centre of team misconduct charges brought against his A-League football side Gold Coast and Brisbane in the wake of their fiery first round clash.
Football Federation Australia has charged both clubs after an all in melee, sparked by an altercation between Brisbane defender Bob Malcolm and Smeltz in the final few minutes of Saturday's match, which Gold Coast won 3-1.
Both clubs also face another charge for having five or more of their players cautioned during the match.
