Campbell low key for final major of the year

8:13 am on 13 August 2009

Michael Campbell has no lofty expectations on the eve of the final golf major of the year, the PGA championship at Hazeltine in Minnesota.

Ranked 313 in the world, Campbell is still playing out the 5 year exemptions from his 2005 US Open victory, but it's been a very lean year since he first suffered a shoulder injury last October.

He's made 1 cut in the last 9 months, but says he's still working hard and isn't about to give up.

Japan-based David Smail is the only other New Zealander in the field.

Tiger Woods is desperate to end his major championship season with one of the four titles.
