The Wallabies coach Robbie Deans has allayed fears that first five-eighth Matt Giteau will next week's must-win Tri-Nations rugby clash against the All Blacks with a leg injury.

Giteau suffered the injury in Australia's weekend loss to South Africa in Capetown.

He was on the sideline at training in Sydney today, the Wallabies' first session since returning from South Africa.

However Deans says Giteau isn't in doubt for the Bledisloe Cup clash in Sydney next Saturday and is hopeful his key playmaker will be able to resume training this weekend.

A knee injury has already forced Australia captain Stirling Mortlock out of the rest of this year's Tri-Nations series.
