The South Korean golfer Yong-Eun Yang has won the US PGA Championship in Minnesota, becoming Asia's first major golf champion.

Yang out-duelled world number one Tiger Woods on the back nine in one of golf's most shocking upsets.

Yang, ranked 110th in the world and who learnt the game in New Zealand, fired a final round two under par 70 to finish eight under and three shots ahead of Woods who completed his round with two bogeys.

It's the first time Woods has lost when leading a major tournament after 54 holes.

Briton's Lee Westwood and Rory McIlroy finished tied for third..

New Zealander David Smail finished tied for 67th at 11 over par.
