The new PGA champion YE Yang didn't start playing golf until 1991 when he was 19 and after three years he went to New Zealand to try to play as much as possible.

Before then Yang had played about a hundred rounds and he says he played that many in three months in New Zealand.

Afterwards Yang says he felt his golf had improved enough to start trying to become a touring professional and when he returned to Korea he became a teaching pro at a country club.

When he won the HSBC champs in 2006 he became only the second Korean to win on a PGA tour after KJ Choi.
