The Australian cricket coach Tim Nielsen has talked up Brett Lee's prospects of making a dramatic return for the Ashes decider at The Oval this week.
Nielsen says Lee's ability to bowl reverse swing could bring him into calculations for the south London clash starting on Thursday.
But there are showers predicted for the opening day of play and that could thwart the prospect of reverse swing and Lee's bid to play.
Nielsen also called for cool heads at the selection table a week after Australia produced a thumping win at Headingley with seamer Stuart Clark playing as the fourth bowler in the attack.
There is also the fact that Lee only played his first match in six weeks in last weekend's two-day practice in Canterbury following his recovery from a side strain.
The attractiveness of the blond-haired speedster would be offset by the unpredictability of playing him alongside Peter Siddle and Mitchell Johnson in a match with such massive consequences.
The Oval has become renowned for producing flat pitches with the chance of some assistance for tweakers later on in the game.
But outside of Shane Warne, no spinner has dominated a Test at the south London venue in the past decade.
