Bolt spurs competitor on

The dominance of Jamaican sprinter Usain Bolt should discourage his competitors -- after all, no one in history has ever run faster over 100 metres than he did at the world championships in Berlin yesterday.

But one rival, Olympic silver medallist Richard Thompson of Trinidad and Tobago, who finished fifth as "Lightning" Bolt set the new world record of 9.58 seconds, finds Bolt's form an inspiration instead.

Thompson says he may never get close to 9.5 or 9.6 but he can guarantee he'll be trying hard.

He says Bolt's so far ahead of him but hard work is the key.
