Waikato FC has named the former All Whites defender Che Bunce as its new head coach for the New Zealand Football Championship season.

The 33 year old former Coventry City, New Zealand Knights and Football Kingz defender replaces

Dave Edmondson who's left.

Bunce starred for the All Whites against Brazil during the FIFA Confederations Cup in Mexico

in 1999 under coach Ken Dugdale.

Waikato FC Development Manager James Raffan says the club is delighted have to signed Bunce, who has had an outstanding season for Melville United in the Northern Regional Football League.

Bunce is hoping Waikato can repeat the achievements of last season and challenge for the NZFC play-offs.
