Tiger Woods is to play in next week's Barclays Classic in New Jersey, the first of four lucrative FedExCup playoff events.
It will be the world number one's first appearance since finishing second at last week's U.S. PGA Championship.
Two years ago Woods skipped the Barclays event, saying he was tired after winning back-to-back titles at the WGC-Bridgestone Invitational and the PGA Championship in sapping heat.
However, the American went on to clinch inaugural FedExCup honours that year by sealing victory in the last two playoff tournaments.
Woods leads the 2009 FedExCup standings, having triumphed five times on the U.S. circuit in 13 starts.
