Lee misses out on the money cut

As one former American amateur golf champion recorded his first victory on the US PGA Tour at the Wyndham Championship, another - Rotorua's Danny Lee - missed out on his money card.

While 25-year-old Ryan Moore won a three-way play-off for his maiden pro win, five years after taking out the US Amateur event which Lee won last year, the 19-year-old New Zealander made the cut but didn't finish at the rain-affected $7.4 million tournament in North Carolina.

Lee needed a top-two finish to make enough money to keep his PGA Tour exemption.

Moore birdied the third extra play-off hole to beat fellow American Kevin Stadler, after Jason Bohn had been eliminated at the first extra hole, after carding a closing five-under-par 65 at Sedgfield to join Stadler (66) and Bohn (62) at 16-under 264.
