HRT's Davison goes from zero to hero

2:37 pm on 24 August 2009

Toll Holden Racing Team's Will Davison went from zero to hero in less than 24 hours with a blitzkrieg of the drive in the latest round of the V8 Supercar Championship in Queensland.

Lazarus-type display Davison blasted the field by a massive 14 seconds after failing to finish in the first race.

It helped him return to the championship hunt, making up ground on championship favourite Jamie Whincup, and keeping him in touch before the endurance events at the L&H 500 and the Bathurst 1000.

But it was another forgettable weekend for the New Zealand drivers, with Fabian

Coulthard the best with fifth place in Saturday's race after qualifying sixth fastest.
