Lee best placed NZer on day one at Gleneagles

The 19-year-old Rotorua rookie Danny Lee is best placed of the three New Zealanders after the first day of the Johnnie Walker Golf championship at Gleneagles in Scotland.

On his return to Europe from the United States, Lee posted a one under par 71 to be four shots from the lead, held by Scotland's 1999 British Open champion Paul Lawrie.

Mark Brown had a 73 and Michael Campbell 74.
