Silver Ferns accept criticism but say changes in strategy essential

The Silver Ferns assistant coach and former New Zealand captain Waimarama Taumanu says she understands the widespread criticism of the side over its recent performances, but they've had no choice but to change strategy.

The Silver Ferns face a three nil series whitewash if they lose to the World side in Auckland tomorrow night, after losses in Wellington in Auckland.

The problems have been throughout the court but Taumanu says the change in midcourt strategy has been to pass over defenders and deliver flat, quicker passes - which requires better timing and combinations.

She says she admires the players have stuck with the plan even though it's proving tough to implement but says their old style against Australia last year didn't work and changes had to be made.
