No positional changes for the Black Caps

The New Zealand cricket captain Daniel Vettori isn't considering promoting himself up the batting order, despite his heroic innings on the last day of the two-Test series against Sri Lanka at Colombo.

Daniel Vettori, batting at number eight was the last man dismissed for 140 having led a stirring fightback, but the Black Caps were dismissed for 397 just before tea, 97 runs short of their target.

Despite his efforts as NZ's leading batsman in the series, Vettori says he's comfortable batting down the order.

He says if he moves up that would demote capable batsmen such as Brendon McCullum or Jacob Oram.

After their 2-0 series win Sri Lanka are now outright second in the world Test rankings behind South Africa.
