Leicester midfield back and former All Black Aaron Mauger's in the early stages of discussions over extending his stay at the English club.
Mauger, who's 28, still has a year to run on his current contract but there's been speculation he could return so he can challenge for a place in the 2011 World Cup squad.
All Blacks assistant coach Wayne Smith has previously said two UK-based players are on their radar and may feature in the squad.
