Deans finally runs out of patience with misfiring Wallabies

Robbie Deans has finally run out of patience with his misfiring Wallabies rugby side, dropping five players for this weekend's Tri-Nations test against South Africa in Brisbane.

Halfback Luke Burgess, hooker Stephen Moore, wing Peter Hynes, centre Ryan Cross and number eight Richard Brown have all been dropped from the starting lineup in the wake of last weeekend's loss to the Springboks in Perth.

Burgess, Moore and Hynes have been relegated to the bench but Cross, Brown and replacement prop Al Baxter have been dropped from the 22-strong squad as Australia looks to salvage some pride.

The Wallabies have lost all four of their tri nations test so far.

Will Genia will start at halfback, Drew Mitchell replaces Hynes on the wing while Berrick Barnes returns from injury at second five with Adam Ashley-Cooper, moving out one to centre.

Captain George Smith moves to number eight, with 21-year-old David Pocock to start at openside flanker.

Tatafu Polota-Nau replaces Moore at hooker while powerful number eight Wycliff Palu returns from injury to join the reserves.
