The New Zealand women's basketball team is confident they will pull off an improved performance in their second Oceanic Championship test against Australia tonight.
The young Tall Ferns side were beaten 98 to 48 in Porirua on Monday and must win tonight's game in Canberra by 51 points to gain in a spot in the 2010 world champs.
Coach Shawn Dennis says for such an inexperienced side, the Tall Ferns showed some promising form against the current world champions in the first test.
He says although a win looks unlikely after the initial 50 point loss, the team is confident they can decrease that deficit in game two.
The final Oceanic Championship game starts at 9pm tonight, New Zealand time.
