Ryder and McCullum star in Twenty20 win

The Black Caps have completed a clean sweep of the Twenty20 cricket series against Sri Lanka with a convincing 22 run win in Colombo.

Brendon McCullum and Jess Ryder set up the win, with McCullum slamming 49 off just 34 balls in an opening stand of 84. Ryder scored 52 off 37 balls as New Zealand reached 170 for four.

Shane Bond demolished the top of the Sri Lankan in innings taking three for 18. Kyle Mills and off-spinner Nathan McCullum claimed two wickets each.

New Zealand's win was based on the explosive opening stand of 84 in 10.2 overs by McCullum and Ryder after Vettori won the toss.

Left-handed Ryder smashed three sixes and as many fours in his 52, while McCullum hit two sixes and four boundaries.

Martin Guptill and Jacob Oram further boosted the total with a 43-run stand for the fourth wicket in 27 balls, before Guptill was bowled by Lasith Malinga off the final ball of the innings.
